Had a ball last Sunday, July 22 at the 5 hour Scrapathon featuring Christmas in July. Each hour had a different host with a different challenge. We were in a chat room so lots of chatting was going on along with 'trying' to scrap at the same time... hahahaha Not all the challenges required that the pages be Christmas themed.
Must admit that I did a bit more chatting than I did scraping. But we had a few days to finish up the scraps so all was well. Here is a re-cap of all the fun we had.
2:30 - 3:30 - Toiny
Toiny aka PiggyScraps had us making a Christmas Card using this template if we wished
Here is mine:
Kit: Classic Christmas by Studio4 Designworks
3:30 - 4:30 - Caren Grobe aka Min
Caren Grobe aka Min gave us this darling mini to play with. The challenge was to use 4 papers and 20 elements [words count as 1]
4:30 - 5:30 - Aimee Harrison aka Girlboheme had us doing a speedscrap with this recipe:
STEPS FOR THE SPEEDSCRAP:
Step 1: take 4 coordinating patterned papers and place them slightly askew and slightly angled on top of one another, changing sizes as needed.
Step 2: Place a ribbon along the top edge of the top paper.
Step 3: Place a single frame, slightly to the right of center.
Step 4: Place a solid color paper strip from top to bottom behind the photo that is slightly thinner than the frame. Then place two pieces of trim, scallops or ribbon on each side behind the paper strip.
Step 5: Add a journal card, journal or tag beneath the right lower corner of the frame and angle it to the right.
Step 6: Add a Bow and 5 flowers anywhere on your layout.
Step 7: Journal in the journal card.
And just for playing, we got the following mini:

Kit used: Christmas in Gold by Feli and LouCee Designs
5:30 - 6:30 - ADB Designs
ABD Designs furnished us with this mini kit - if we wanted to use - and this recipe:
Step 1. Select 1 photo for your layout and make it (1)all Black & white or (2) all sepia or (3) spot of color with either B&W or sepia.
Step 2. Select 2 papers for your background. Layer one over the other , resize or crop the top paper so that the bottom paper shows on all four sides.
Step 3. Select 2 frames of different shapes (for example, 1 circle and 1 rectangle)
Place the frames so they are overlapping. Place slightly off center and put your photo in one of the frames.
Step 4. Create a cluster of at least 3 flowers and 1 foliage and place on or near your frames.
Step 5. Duplicate your cluster and place it near or on the frames as well.
Step 6. Add a ribbon, ric rac, string or wire.
Step 7. Add a bow & 1 more flower (or other suitable elements)
Step 8. Use a strip of paper(S) or a tag or word tile from your kit and add a title and date and any other journaling you wish

6:30 - 7:30 - SnickerDoodleDesigns
What fun we all had at the last chat session. Some of us were loopy by this time - but still had so much fun. Just for participating in the scrap, she gave us this mini:
SnickerDoodle aka Karen gave us another recipe to follow;
1. Choose an odd number of photos that you would like to work with.
2. Choose at least 2 papers to layer for your background. Solid or patterned, your choice.
3. Add at least 1 paper circle to your page and 2 rectangles. More are okay; this is just the minimum.
4. Add flowers (any number); 1 ribbon or string; and some greenery
5. Add some glitter, used in any way that you like.
6. Add some stitching and any other embellishments that you would like to use to complete your layout.
Here is my page I made:
